Celeste’s main threat#

Celeste, Deadlock hero

Celeste is a controller: shapes where fights happen with zones, walls, traps and disables.

The kit is spirit-leaning, so spirit resistance and spirit shields do the most to blunt it.

Abilities to play around#

Light Eater ability icon

Ability 1

Light Eater

Blasts enemies in a cone for spirit damage and grants Celeste spirit lifesteal. Melee attacks can detonate its bonus damage.

Play around it Healing or sustain — buy healing reduction (Healbane, Toxic Bullets or Decay) so it’s worth less, and focus burst damage rather than chip damage.

Dazzling Trick ability icon

Ability 2

Dazzling Trick

Surrounds Celeste in a prism barrier. When the barrier breaks, it silences nearby enemies and deals damage.

Play around it Defensive window — stop shooting into it, reposition, and burst when it ends.

Play around it Silence or disarm — keep a cleanse (Dispel Magic) or Debuff Reducer if this is landing on you every fight.

Radiant Daggers ability icon

Ability 3

Radiant Daggers

Calls down a beam of light that explodes after a short delay. Hitting heroes grants a stacking spirit damage buff.

Play around it Respect its range and cooldown; fight when it’s been used.

Shining Wonder ability icon

Ultimate

Shining Wonder

Launches a light orb that damages and slows its target, then bounces to other enemies, prioritising heroes.

Play around it Disable or displacement — this is what starts kills. Track its cooldown and punish the window after it’s used; Debuff Reducer shortens it, and Unstoppable or Indomitable answer the biggest ones.

Play around it Slows — Enduring Speed and Debuff Reducer help you walk out of it.

Counter items, with reasons#

General answers

  • Healbane item icon

    Healbane

    Vitality · 1,600 souls

The kit heals — healing reduction cuts its value.

  • Debuff Reducer item icon

    Debuff Reducer

    Vitality · 1,600 souls

Shortens the slows, silences and disables in this kit.

  • Spirit Shielding item icon

    Spirit Shielding

    Vitality · 1,600 souls

    Cheap protection against spirit-leaning damage.

  • Spirit Resilience item icon

    Spirit Resilience

    Vitality · 3,200 souls

Resistance that keeps paying off as the game goes on.

General answers are our editorial reading of the kit. Counter items only help if you’re the one being hit — buy for the threat you actually face.

How to beat Celeste#

  • Don't stand under Radiant Daggers.
  • Stay out of Dazzling Trick's range — breaking the barrier silences nearby enemies.
  • Kelvin's Frozen Shelter can bounce Shining Wonder off its dome.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Fighting inside their zones and walls.
  • Chasing into areas they prepared before the fight.
