Opening the console#

  1. In the game settings, turn on the developer console option.
  2. Press F7 to open it.
  3. Commands work in the hideout, the hero sandbox, “Explore NYC” and custom games with cheats enabled. Most practice commands need sv_cheats true in a custom lobby.

Useful general commands#

  • citadel_hud_visible false hides the HUD — handy for clean screenshots.
  • citadel_pause pauses a match (the same as pressing P), subject to normal pause rules.
  • citadel_show_bullet_lag_compensation <seconds> shows hitboxes for a time.
  • disconnect leaves the current match.

Safe vs restricted commands#

Cheat commands only work where cheats are allowed — your own sandbox or custom lobby. They don’t work in matchmaking, and there’s no legitimate way to use them there. Frame-rate and network commands from other Source games may not exist in Deadlock; if a command isn’t recognised, it isn’t supported.
