Stamina: the resource behind movement#
Dashes, double jumps and dash-jumps each cost 1 stamina; a down-dash costs half. Your first wall jump is free and later ones cost half. Running out of stamina at the wrong moment is how most players get caught — keep one charge for escaping.
Dash and dash-jump#
- Dash (default Shift) is a quick evasive burst. You get one air dash by default.
- Dash-jump: press jump during a dash for a fast, long leap. The stamina bar turns blue to show the timing window; mistime it and you just keep dashing.
- Dash-jumps are the fastest way to cross gaps, reach rooftops and escape.

Slide#
Hold crouch while moving fast or going downhill to slide. A slide keeps your momentum, and you have infinite ammo while sliding — slide-shooting is a real tool, not just a movement trick. Use ramps and stairs to chain slides.
Down-dash, wall jumps and mantling#
- Down-dash: press crouch twice in the air to drop quickly — great for dodging and for dropping onto enemies.
- Wall jump: jump next to a wall while holding away from it. Wall-sliding slows your fall.
- Mantle: hold forward toward a ledge and jump. Holding crouch during the mantle gives a small speed boost at the end.
Ziplines, vents and jump pads#
Ziplines run down each lane from your base; how far they reach depends on how far your troopers have pushed, and they get much faster once a lane’s base Guardians fall. Jump pads (disguised as air vents) mostly give horizontal speed. Steam vents hide you and give a little regeneration. Some heroes, like Rat King and Rem, can travel through tunnel vents.
A practice routine#
- Open the hero sandbox and spend five minutes on dash-jump timing until you hit it every time.
- Practise slide-into-dash-jump down ramps.
- Run a lane from base to the enemy Guardian using only movement tech, then do it faster.
- Practise a down-dash dodge and an escape with your last stamina charge.
Console commands for practice (fast stamina, fast cooldowns) are in console commands.
