Grey Talon’s main threat#

Grey Talon, Deadlock hero

Grey Talon is a marksman: deals damage from long range and punishes enemies who stand still.

The kit is hybrid-leaning, so a mix of bullet and spirit defence do the most to blunt it.

Abilities to play around#

Charged Shot ability icon

Ability 1

Charged Shot

Hold the ability or fire button to charge a powerful arrow that pierces through enemies. A held shot can also detonate Spirit Snare traps early.

Play around it Mobility — it’s also the escape. Don’t chase it into their team; force it out first, then commit. Slowing Hex shuts down many movement abilities.

Rain of Arrows ability icon

Ability 2

Rain of Arrows

Launches Grey Talon high into the air to glide, granting extra weapon damage and multishot while airborne. Touching the ground ends the ability early.

Play around it Disable or displacement — this is what starts kills. Track its cooldown and punish the window after it’s used; Debuff Reducer shortens it, and Unstoppable or Indomitable answer the biggest ones.

Spirit Snare ability icon

Ability 3

Spirit Snare

Places a trap that arms itself, then curses and slows enemies who enter it, interrupting, silencing and disarming them. Enemies caught in it also cannot use items.

Play around it Silence or disarm — keep a cleanse (Dispel Magic) or Debuff Reducer if this is landing on you every fight.

Play around it Slows — Enduring Speed and Debuff Reducer help you walk out of it.

Guided Owl ability icon

Ultimate

Guided Owl

Launches a spirit owl the player controls, which explodes on impact to damage and stun enemies. Killing enemy heroes with the owl grants permanent Spirit Power.

Play around it Disable or displacement — this is what starts kills. Track its cooldown and punish the window after it’s used; Debuff Reducer shortens it, and Unstoppable or Indomitable answer the biggest ones.

How to beat Grey Talon#

  • Stay out of Spirit Snare's radius — it interrupts, silences, disarms and blocks item use.
  • Keep your health above the owl's execute threshold.
  • Indomitable and Unstoppable block or suppress the disables from Spirit Snare and Guided Owl.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Peeking long sightlines one at a time.
  • Letting them shoot freely from high ground.
