Baba’s abilities explained#
Baba has three regular abilities and an ultimate. Ability names and behaviour below were checked on 27 Oct 2026; numbers are left out on purpose because they change with almost every patch — the in-game tooltip shows the current values.
Ability 1
Threadsap
Weaves a thread that follows your crosshair, then bursts to deal spirit damage and steal enemy Spirit. While Baba holds stolen Spirit, her bullets deal bonus spirit damage.
Ability 2
Granny Long Legs
Extends the bench's legs for bonus move speed, higher jumps, and debuff and melee resistance. Light melee becomes a kick; heavy melee a ground pound that knocks up and slows.
Ability 3
Baba's Brew
Throws a pot of tea that cycles between a barrier, a silence, or a scalding burn that deals spirit damage over time and reduces spirit resist. Baba can pause or resume the brewing.
Ultimate
Feed The Birds
Covers nearby targets in bread, stacking a slow. When the channel ends, pigeons bombard them with spirit damage and hex each into a pigeon.
How to play Baba#
Take the space in front of your team, but pick engagements your carries can follow. Durability items let you stay in fights long enough to matter; buy them early.
Tips from the current kit
- Baba can still melee, cast Granny Long Legs, parry, use items and ride ziplines while brewing.
- Charge Granny Long Legs' high jump by holding crouch, then release.
- If Baba is stunned during Feed The Birds, the channel ends early and its effects trigger.
Build framework#
A starting framework, not a tested build
This section explains what kind of items Baba’s kit rewards, built from how the abilities work. It isn’t a win-rate-tested build. For community builds with current stats, open the in-game Build Browser and filter by hero, then check our items explainer to understand why each item is there.
Spirit lean. Most of the kit's damage is spirit damage from abilities, so spirit power, cooldown reduction and duration usually do the most for it.

| Laning | Cheap 800-soul items that help you trade and sustain in lane, plus one that boosts your main damage source. |
| Mid game | Your first 3,200-soul item is usually the biggest single jump in power — buy toward the one that makes your best ability or your gun stronger. |
| Late game | Fill slots with 6,400-soul items, and swap cheap starters for upgrades. Leave room for an answer to what the enemy is doing. |
| Defence | Match the enemy’s damage: shields and resistance against whichever type is hurting you most. |

Defensive options
Items opponents commonly use against Baba — expect to see them, and plan around them:
Ability points#
Ability unlocks come from levelling up; ability points then buy upgrade tiers. A sensible default for Baba:
- Unlock the ability that helps you farm or trade in lane first — for most players that’s Threadsap or the ability you can hit most reliably.
- Unlock all three regular abilities early so you have every tool in the first fights.
- Unlock Feed The Birds as soon as it’s available.
- Put upgrade points into the ability you use most, then into whichever upgrade tier changes how an ability works (tier 3 upgrades often do).

Playing against Baba#
- Dispelling the bread debuff stops further Feed The Birds damage.
- Divine Barrier prevents all Feed The Birds effects.
- Dispel Magic can remove Threadsap and Baba's Brew effects.
- Plated Armor prevents the on-shot effects of Threadsap and Baba's Brew.
